The board-approved “Thick” WHOIS policy recommendations require all gTLD registries, present and future, to maintain and provide both domain name and registrant data. Currently gTLD registries satisfy their contact information data requirements using both “Thin” and Thick WHOIS service models. In this working session, members of the ICANN organization and Thick WHOIS Implementation Review Team will discuss the status of ongoing policy implementation work on the subject, including issues and challenges, potential mechanisms and a timeline.
